| Villas Quina and Zeppo (pictured above) are the largest and most modern of our villas. These neighbouring villas are two-storey with four bedrooms and four bathrooms and large pool (11.8 x 6m). Simply yet beautifully furnished they are very comfortable and spacious, set in large gardens. Both have a terraced area and separate barbecue area outside. Kitchens include a dishwasher. These villas are ideal for families and large parties often rent the two together – each villa comfortably sleeps eight people and there is a second, smaller sitting room where extra beds can be placed. For the cooler months the villas have a simple form of central heating powered by a wood burning stove. and fireplaces for the winter. All villas have a gas cooker, fridge, electric kettle, toaster, microwave, washing machine (except Casa Velha), coffee machine, iron and hair dryer. Maid service is provided six times a week. All bedrooms sleep two and are either double or twin-bedded. Casa Velha has a jacuzzi instead of a private pool. As important as these features are, they pale in significance compared to the space, views, peace and privacy which are intrinsic to Fazenda Caravela. Villa Antonia is another four bedroom single-storey villa with three bathrooms, one shower room and a swimming pool (8.5 x 3m). Views from Antonia are particularly stunning as it is the highest villa in the community and the galaxy of stars are a sight to behold on the many clear nights. Antonia has a particularly large sun terrace with two tables and plenty of sun beds. There is also a barbecue outside. The inside is traditionally Portuguese in feel and design. Parties larger than eight or nine often rent Casa Velha as well, as it is just a few steps away across the garden and sleeps four. This combination is sold as CV V6. Luisa One of the most attractive features of three bedroom, two bathroom Luisa is that you can step out of one of the bedrooms straight onto the pool area. Again, Luisa sits in beautiful, large grounds and like Nicole, the split-level living/dining room nicely breaks up the two social areas of the villa. Margarida The three twin-bedded Margarida is a charming villa with two bathrooms set in large grounds with a swimming pool measuring 8.6 x 3.6 m. Margarida enjoys uninterrupted views across the valley and towards the sea. Colinas Verdes is one of our smaller villas with two twin-bedded bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has lovely architecture with sweeping arches whose shape is mirrored in the gently curving pool (4.2 x 3m). The sun terrace is fairly small, but plenty big enough to accommodate table, chairs and sunbeds and there is also a barbecue. The small garden surrounds the villa. Casa Velha is developed from the original farmer’s cottage on the hill and as such has an abundance of charm and character and boasts the prime position on top of the hill, giving you splendid views of the mountains and coastal plane. It is the smallest of our villas with two bedrooms and two bathrooms – and to access both bedrooms you need to go down a few steps. As there is no room for a swimming pool we installed a jacuzzi in 2004. Larger parties often rent Casa Velha in conjunction with neighbouring Antonia – the two properties between them comfortably house 11 people. |
